25.5 Hours 04.25.2009
My first extended time alone with the chitlins' is over. Les lead worship for our campus' women's retreat this weekend. My cousin Allen Newberry (a stay at home dad) will scoff at me, but I have to be honest, I was a little nervous. Not for any reason.
Aevyn and Stone were great. There were no issues at all. Confidence be loosed. Except that Stone kept 4 brutal poopers in the silo for me to experience. Need I say he likes grapes? I mean, 4 "dirties" in 25.5 hours. Is he an alien? Speaking of, Aevyn likes to add, "and poop" to "Jesus, thank you for Stone and mom and Carmel." I never thought to thank Jesus for that.
Last night we strollered to the Town Center. I actually bought a shirt. It's been over a year since I bought a new shirt, so it's a pretty big deal ok? It rained on us, that was exiting. On the way back from the mall we threw rocks in the lake and vainly looked for turtles. I didn't point it out to Aevyn, but there was a dead one stuck in a drain from a recent flood. Sad.
We came back and wrestled, ate dinner, then they hit the hay. That's when it hit me. I can set up my webcam in front of their rooms and watch them while I work up in the studio. It was so satisfying to discover a new use for iChat.
Today we went to "Chick-a-lay" for lunch and got to pet a Flemish Giant Bunny, a loaner from the Houston Zoo. We had fun. There was a snake too, but the old lady from the zoo said I'd have to become a volunteer for the zoo to get to hold the animals. Pfshhh.
We got home then I put them down for a nap. I set up my newfangled video surveillance and got some work done.
Don't tell Les but it was no big deal. I think I told Les it was a terrible weekend and she can't go anywhere again.

Your Uncle Mark would scoff at you as well. So are you thinking of starting a daycare then? The Bunny would scare me. That's an alien, not Stone. My little Stone - he's an angel!!
