Iowa Mountain Tour 04.09.2009

I love documentaries. It doesn't matter what it's about. It's the original, unfiltered reality tv. Normal people put on display.

Here's a clip from a recent documentary about the song-poem industry. It is escentially when your poem is submitted to a company (for a fee) and they turn your lyric into a song, no matter how rediculous your poem may be. You might have even seen an ad in the paper like, "See your poems published!" or "Want to be a song writer?!" It's hilarious. There is something mesmorizing about the whole thing. If you don't believe me check this clip out. I edited this two minute clip so you could understand your need to watch the whole thing. The artists that you'll see had submitted poems but then decided to take the music on the road for themselves...for a one concert tour. The first 5 minuets of "Off the Charts: The Song-Poem Story" is pretty insane. You can find this in it's entirity at hulu.com.

"And now I'd like to introduce Gary and Josh." [applause]

Sometimes there just aren't words. I love how Gary combed his hair, looked back in the mirror and still didn't see the need to continue.

Was that a song about chickens in the White House? Couldn't tell!
